The Piedmont Baseball Collegiate Baseball League will organize and operate it's fifth season of summer collegiate wooden bat baseball in 2020 to accommodate players who are living at home during this summer and live within a two and a half hour drive of Richmond, Virginia.

Jeff Roberts, Founder Jeff@piedmontleague.com League President and Commissioner since inception. Duties: Jeff oversees facilities acquisition, scheduling, player registration, training initiatives and league employment opportunities. Background: Retired Wall Street Broker. Original co-founder of the Richmond Braves National Travel Program in 1998. Partnered with co-founder Tommy Mayers to form and operate D1Draftable Baseball since 2009. Creator of Invincible Velocity Pitcher Training Service. Served as scout for the New York Yankees and consulted on player development by high school, college and pro organizations. Family: Married with three grown children. Sons Will (University of Virginia, '11, Cape Cod League '10, New England Collegiate League '09) and Jack (University of Virginia '17, New England Collegiate League '14, Valley League '15) pitched and played collegiately. Will pitched professionally (Cleveland Indians). Nephews Mike and Sam Roberts played and coached collegiately at VMI and played professionally.
Isaac Lippert Issac@piedmontleague.com General Manager since 2020 Duties: As GM, Isaac is responsible for player acquisition, coordination with college coaches, overseeing league pre-season draft, coordinating game day operations, maintaining competitive balance in the League and approving all in-season player transactions. Background: Isaac comes to the PCBL front office for the first time in 2020 as GM. He presently serves as Director of Baseball Operations at Legacy Park Sports Complex. Previously, he taught high school history for four years. Isaac was a left handed pitcher, and played four years of Division 1 baseball at Northeastern University. Since his playing days, he has spent time coaching with the Harwich Mariners in the Cape Cod Baseball League. In his time with the Mariners, he assisted with pitchers and catchers, many of who now play professional baseball. He has been a coach for two years with the Richmond Braves National Baseball Program.
Matt Burgess Operations Manager since 2019 Duties: As an Operations Manager, Matt is responsible for Game Day Operations, Social Media Management, Customer Service, and Player Safety. Additionally, Matt is responsible for supervising the Operations Staff. Background: This is Matt's third year in the Piedmont Collegiate Baseball League. Matt started as an intern in 2018 and is now responsible for supervising the Operations Staff. Matt worked for Prince George County, VA as the Sports Tourism Coordinator creating events and tournaments to generate economic development for the county. While at James Madison University, Matt worked as a Student Assistant for JMU Athletics for two years.
David Kraft Operations Manager since 2020 Duties: Assisting Matt with Operations Management, David is responsible for game day operations, stat tracking, social media, as well as customer/player/staff safety. David is currently finishing his Master's in Sport Leadership at VCU. Prior to PCBL, David completed his undergraduate studies of sports and recreation management at JMU. David has worked in a variety of sport organization in Virginia, including the Richmond Kickers, Sportable, Henrico County Rec and Parks, and the University of Richmond. David wants to use the experience from the PCBL to continue his goal of working in sport events management.
