Head Coach
Jake Sidwell is currently a Graduate Manager at Virginia Commonwealth University where he mostly assists with the pitchers and catchers. He is originally from Orlando, FL where he was the catcher for a nationally-ranked high school in Olympia High. He continued his playing career at Davidson College where he was the starting catcher for his last three years. He was a two-time team captain and a finalist for the Rawling’s Gold Glove Award, which honors the top 3 catchers in the nation based on defensive statistics. In his senior year, he helped Davidson to a school-record 35 wins, on the way to a Super Regional. Jake has just finished up his Master’s of Education with a Degree in Sport Leadership from VCU. He is now hoping to coach at the Division 1 level, currently working under Coach Shawn Stiffler. He has a younger brother, Kirk, who now plays at Stetson University and a sister, Marissa, who attends Florida Atlantic University. His dad, Rob, was a long time MLB scout and currently resides in Orlando with Jake’s mother, Molly, who is a teacher at the local high school.
